New Furka chairlift set to revolutionise Klosters skiing!

We are beginning to get very excited for the upcoming winter season 2017/18, and more so than usual as a new chairlift is coming to the Parsenn which will revolutionise the mountain as we know it!

For those who are unfamiliar with the ski area, the Furka double T-bar (built in 1972) is the key link on the Parsenn between the Klosters side and Davos side. However out with the old and in with the new, because this winter it is being replaced by a new high speed 6 seater chairlift which will complete the 380 meter climb with ease. Its assembly is underway - all 1,587 metres of it - with a transport helicopter being a regular visitor on the mountain as it flies in columns and roller batteries which will constitute the supports.

Combined with the associated new snowmaking equipment, this impressive update represents a CHF 13 million investment and is accordingly fitted out with state-of-the-art conveniences. The chairlift will have covers, heated seats and will take 2500 people per hour. Additionally the journey time up the mountain will be halved to only 5 minutes.

This incredibly exciting and much longed for improvement at the heart of the Parsenn ski area is the last piece of the jigsaw which thoroughly modernises the lift system, and we are so looking forward to using it!
